Traditional Gumbo

Prepared with FLAV-R-PAC® or WESTPAC® Classic Vegetables • Gumbo Mix

Ingredients

¼ cupButter
¼ cupFlour
4 cupsChicken broth
16 oz.Gumbo Mix
2 cupsChicken, cooked and shredded
½ lb.Kielbasa sausage, finely diced
1 tsp.Garlic, minced
To tasteSalt & pepper
2 cupsRice, steamed

Directions

  1. In a stockpot, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and stir constantly until mixture turns brown.
  2. Slowly stir in broth and bring to a boil.
  3. Add vegetables, chicken, sausage and garlic. Simmer for 20 minutes. Serve over steamed rice.
