Traditional Gumbo
Prepared with FLAV-R-PAC® or WESTPAC® Classic Vegetables • Gumbo Mix
Ingredients
| ¼ cup | Butter |
| ¼ cup | Flour |
| 4 cups | Chicken broth |
| 16 oz. | Gumbo Mix |
| 2 cups | Chicken, cooked and shredded |
| ½ lb. | Kielbasa sausage, finely diced |
| 1 tsp. | Garlic, minced |
| To taste | Salt & pepper |
| 2 cups | Rice, steamed |
Directions
- In a stockpot, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and stir constantly until mixture turns brown.
- Slowly stir in broth and bring to a boil.
- Add vegetables, chicken, sausage and garlic. Simmer for 20 minutes. Serve over steamed rice.
