Carmelized Baby Carrots and Onions

Prepared with FLAV-R-PAC® or WESTPAC® Premium Vegetables • Whole Baby Carrots

Ingredients

¼ cupButter
1 mediumOnion, sliced
½ cupBrown sugar
¼ cupOrange juice
2 tsp.Orange zest
½ tsp.Allspice
16 oz.Whole Baby Carrots

Directions

  1. In a non-stick skillet melt butter and sauté onions over medium-high heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. In small bowl combine sugar, juice, zest and allspice.
  3. Add mixture and carrots to onions, bring to a simmer while stirring. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes.
Yield:4-6 servings
