Preparation

STOVE TOP
Place 4 cups vegetables in a 2½ quart saucepan. Add ¼ cup water and bring to a full boil over high heat. Gently seperate the the vegetables with a wooden spoon if necessary. Reduce heat to medium; cover and gently boil until tender approximately 4 minutes. Drain. Season to taste and serve.

MICROWAVE
Place 4 cup frozen vegetables in a microwave safe 8 x 8 pan. Add 3 tablespoons of water, cover and microwave on high until tender, approximately 5 minutes. Gently stir halfway through cooking time. Drain. Season to taste and serve.

PARMESAN CRUSTED GREEN BEANS
Drizzle hot, steamed Green Beans with olive oil and sprinkle with shredded parmesan cheese. Run cheese covered beans under a broiler until cheese is toasted and golden brown in color.

ANTIPASTO WITH GREEN BEANS
For an attractive appetizer, first course or lunch plate, blanch and cool frozen green beans. Serve beans tossed in an Italian vinaigrette plated alongside shaved ham or prosciutto, kalamata olives and toasted, sliced country french bread. Sprinkle the whole plate with chopped fresh basil.

GREEN BEANS WITH WALNUTS AND BACON
Sauté chopped bits of bacon and walnut pieces in a little olive oil until crisp. Add parbroiled green beans to mixture and toss to coat beans.

LAMB AND GREEN BEANS RISOTTO WITH ORANGE AND THYME
To add bright color and texture to cramy risotto dishes, add frozen green beans, along side strips of cooked lamb or chicken, to rice during the last 10 minutes of cooking. Season with fresh orange zest, thyme, salt and pepper.

GREEN BEANS WITH TOMATO POMMODORO
Sauté frozen green beans in garlic and olive oil until tender, but still frim to the bite. Add diced tomatoes and chopped fresh basil just before serving; season with salt and pepper.
